Ropey old Craft Union place which commands a good position overlooking the town square. Internally there's a bit of character, the whack-throughs having been done well with arches rather than right-angled RSJs. Rest of the décor is cheap and shoddy with the snot green and grey interior clashing horribly with the old skool pub carpet. The bar is lit in red and pink and what with it getting gloomy towards the rear I was reminded of the Blue Oyster Bar, including the distinct whiff old fags. Thudding dance music on a Monday afternoon to cap it all off. No cask available and half the keg was also off, so ended-up with a sub-par Carling. Very poor, the type of place which gives the Craft Union concept such a bad rep.
