Will Larter left this review about Bulkeley Hotel
A big stone-built hotel, a listed building, that struggles to be as smart as it would like to be, and has succumbed to some eccentric touches that give it a bit of character. Unfortunately this does not include the public bar, which is very much an afterthought between lobby and reception, and run by ignorant young lasses who don't know how to pour a pint and are totally flummoxed by a half. There are two hand pumps on the bar, and the beers were Lees Manchester Pale Ale and Conwy Welsh Pride. Both are pale beers with not a lot to them, and were not improved by being poured with a 3cm frothy head.
