Bit of a weird one. It is horribly modernised on entry but off left is a really nice and cosy traditional bar with a crackling fire and a musical theme - not much changed since the early 70s. Unfortunately it's all rather foody and I felt a little out of place with my pint. GBG listed with two ales, Wye Valley Butty and a warm and slightly flabby Jemima's Pitchfork (NBSS 2.5). If you're here to eat you'll love it but as a drinker I supped and left. The New Court did a similar job to here but felt more drinker-inclusive. Maybe on a different day I’d have scored higher. 6.5
