Looks the part from outside, the aged-looking stone building is enticing. Inside however is a modernised wonky L shaped kids bar pumping out hard-core dance choons to an audience who mainly looked like they were circling Mars; if people falling off stools with tattoos on their necks appeals then this is your bag. No obvious cask (2x Sharps were tucked away in the far corner where nobody who isn’t a local will see or order) but a surprisingly good Guinness was put into my palm which was pretty much the only saving grace. Likely to be in contention for my worst pub of 2024 shortlist.

Fairly basic town local with a small bar at the front and quite a large area behind. A friendly-enough welcome though and they do at least sell Doom Bar on handpump, although sadly it had been drunk out the previous evening and was awaiting a new delivery so unable to comment on condition.

Known locally as 'Kiddly'. Ok little town centre pub with recent ventures into reggae gigs. Sells pickled eggs. Basic L-shape pub. Can tend to the unwelcoming.
