Popped in here on the strength of its inclusion in GBG 2010 and unfortunately it didn't live up to the billing. Only one ale was available on a late Thursday afternoon (Bass) which I couldn't summon the enthusiasm to try (I then compounded this mistake by getting a mulled wine, which came out of a machine and was quite vile). One other pump had a turned clip for Hancocks HB - so much for a 'guest' beer, however there were some bottles of Pen-Lon ale available. The interior has front and back bars, both of which were fairly unremarkable. The landlady was very pleasant and the rolls (£1) were spot-on. The TV was tuned to Midsommer Murders (?) and I also noted a dartboard. An unusual touch is that you can flush the urinal manually!

If my visit was typical, I'd say that it's basically a slightly-better-than-average mundane town centre boozer. If this is GBG material, Newcastle Emlyn must be a fairly depressing place to be a beer drinker.
