The better of two Felinfoel pubs we tried yesterday, there was still very little to recommend this one. Despite it being quiet, it took quite a while before the landlady turned up at the bar to serve ourselves and the two girls who had turned up just before us.

We were asked if we had booked a table, despite the place being empty. Do you seriously need to book a table every time you walk into a pub these days?

The front bar is fairly cosy with a real fire or two. There were a couple of TVs showing World Cup football. Walls have rugby-related memorabilia. To the rear is a smaller area for dining, with a larger function room beyond that.

The real ale was Hancock's HB. I'd forgotten how bland that beer can be. Although in fairness, this does appear to be a food-led pub. So, I doubt many people come here for the real ale, despite its 2023 Good Beer Guide entry.
