A bit of an enigmatic GBG pick. Barely looks like a pub from the outside - more like a discreet solicitor’s office - and I walked past it twice. Opens at 3 on a Saturday though it was 10 mins late as me and a local (who was well-known, seemingly every third car beeped at him and waved) hung around outside. Inside was quite different to what I anticipated – a Gothic interior done to a high standard and presided over by a be-waistcoated guv'nor of the old skool. Noted many caricatures at the rear, along with 80s classics on the stereo. Four cask ales on, all Welsh; my Gower Power didn't fully clear but was drinkable enough (NBSS 2.5). Seeing as no other ales were pulled, I decided to switch over to the Felinfoel keg stout. The guv’nor and token local were both good company once we’d got acquainted and despite the sub-par Gower, I enjoyed it here.
