Knocked-about inside and been re-done in the not-so-recent past so lacks a coherent character. Red, white and black interior with a load of overseas bank notes nailed on the modern wood beams. Two pumps dispensing Greene King OSH (NBSS 2) and Westons Family Vintage cider. Friendly landlady behind the bar and a decent atmosphere but it doesn’t (and can’t) compete with the Ship and Fishguard Arms. 5.5

What a fantastic place. Had a short pub crawl of main st while on a short break to celebrate my partners birthday, ended up in the globe as we were sussing the pubs out as to where to go for a few to celebrate. Why oh why didn't we go in here first as we only went in for one as we'd been in two other pubs before this but we ended up staying til it closed.... The welcome we recieved was warm and friendly considering we weren't local and there were only a few others there. The landlady made great conversation and made us feel very welcome. The log fire was kept glowing in the nicely decorated hub of tranquil.to top it all off they knew we were celebrating my partners birthday and sent over a shot of rum, ahich was fantastic really made us feel welcomed. Would highly recommend to anyone visiting fishguard. Great decor, fab atmosphere, log fire a major plus and the juke box kept us entertained for hours...Guess where we're going tonight???
