A substantial and historic pub which sadly has suffered from the Stonegate makeover treatment so lots of grey paint and assorted fittings out of a catalogue. If you avoid the lunching twerlies some parts do at least feel pubbish but it could be much better. On handpump were Bass and TT Landlord, plus the bogus Wainwright Gold.

Not as interesting or appealing inside as the outside suggests. A standard Smith & Jones identi-pub inside with three handpumps on the bar, the choice being Hobgoblin or Morland Original, I didn't stop long.
