Old Boots left this review about The Wellington Inn
A double fronted, terraced, back street pub belonging to Sam Smiths. It has two rooms at the front, to the left is the main bar and counter in traditional style; quarry tiles, warm wood, leather banquette seating at Britannia tables and a nice Victorian fireplace. To the right is another sitting room in siimilar style but carpeted and behind that a third sitting room. The central corridor leads from the front door to a beer garden at the rear and the outside toilets. As it’s a Sam’s pub there are three pulls but only an above average OBB on (£3.60 a pint) plus the usual collection of small boxes, no fancy tall fonts for Mr Humphrey other than the Pure Brewed Lager. There are seven of their high quality kegs on although the lovely Stout was covered over. The main room is decorated with old photos, a fair number of white rose stuff and of course pictures of the eponymous Duke.

Tucked down Alma Terrace is The Wellington, a Sam smiths pub most people would not know about. It occupies two of the centre terraced houses and is much larger than it looks oon the outside with several different rooms, some with fires.
The beer is the usual Sam Smiths range at their usual competitive prices, Old brewery Bitter still just £1.80 a pint.
Although relatively unknown this is my Pick of the Sams pubs I York, it is very nicely decorated and the fires are a great touch in winter. In summer there is also a great outside seating arer near the river to soak up the sun, definitely worth a visit.

Located just up from the river walkway and set amongst a row of terraced houses. This is a typical sam smiths pub made up of 3 rooms. Usual sam smiths selection and cheap prices.
