A fair-sized place that has clearly suffered from some 'updating' over the years. Once through the fairly horrible glazed entrance, the C=shaped interior is furnished with big, chunky Habitat-style tables and naff dining chairs. Walls are mainly lilac and there are few decorations, which doesn't create much atmosphere or character. However, there were two cask ales (TT Landlord and a very drinkable Black Sheep Best), service was friendly and efficient and food proved to be nicely cooked and presented. It just needs a bit of a makeover to undo previous ones.

A choice of either Taylors Landlord or Black Sheep Bitter plus the usual sort of kegs on two T-Bars, average beer quality for the cask. Fairly similar to my last visit but the furniture here has been renewed with leather items, mostly at dining tables but there’s a couple of smaller round tables with armchairs. It’s elegant but not really a drinkers pub. There’s an outside drinking area that looks fairly nice.

A roughly U-shaped, open plan room in a fairly tasteful modern style. One end is set up for dining with tables and chairs with place settings, the other parts are mainly furnished with sofas and coffee tables although one small raised area has more tables and chairs. All the tables have tea lights in glasses on them. There is a small side room with darts, pool machines and a juke box, a couple of screens are hung on the walls and at one end is a DJ stand and a couple of big speakers. There is a covered smoking area at the back. The usual kegs are dispensed from 3 or 4 T bars spaced along the bar counter and a solitary handpump serves Taylor's Landlord, a bit hazy but in reasonable nick and reasonably priced as is the food.
