A small, long and narrow locals' pub still in the Craft Union brand. Very old school with PVC banquettes and a tartan carpet, apart from an area of stone round the bar which lurks right at the back. It was well patronised by a bunch of aged regulars, studiously ignoring the screens showing golf and horse racing. It does still have a pair of handpumps which dispensed a past-its-best TT Landlord, staggeringly at £2.80. Not sure if this was an error or I had stumbled into a Happy Hour, but I couldn't face another even at that price.

another pretty dull Micklegate pub. This afternoon the bar was full of men with no manners or taste gawping at a big screen showing football. It’s another of those crap ‘Craft Union’ pubs which is just Enterprise Inns version of a cheap town centre drinking barn. the Black Sheep was barely drinkable, no surprise given that no one else was drinking it. Walk on into York.

Made over but well... new floor (stone) new wall treatment, new furniture (a mix including kegs with cushions on), many many big screens and dreadful Doombar as the solo cask beer, not bad enough to hold your nose but still unimpressive. Improved but still sweary staff & customers. One day perhaps but not now.
