The original village pub - dated 1757 - stood sideways to the road. Now the garden in front is enclosed by trees, and a vast car park occupies the space behind, into which the building has been extended. This is primarily a restaurant in my opinion, with almost every table equipped with cutlery and napkins. The bar is to the right (on entering from the car park) and has eight keg taps and two hand pumps. Beers on are Landlord and a house beer, a 3.9% malty bitter of unknown origin. (The pump clip doesn't say, and the lass who served me said she didn't know; I assumed it was Greene King, but she said although the building belongs to them, the business does not.) I was charged £3.45 for a half, so I assume there's a surcharge for drinking halves, or for wearing cycling shorts, or for querying the provenance of the beer.
