Located in the Loxley area of Sheffield, easily reached by bus, the Wisewood Inn is now home to the Loxley Brewery.
There are 2 rooms. The upstairs bar is split into two, whilst I didn't explore the Cellar Bar below, which leads off to the brewery itself. At the rear is a garden with nice views over the valley below.
All of the cask ales on were their own - Mosaic, Gunson, Lomas, Fearn, Halliday & Revill. Craft beers dispensed from the rear wall of the bar were Loxley Black Dog & Haggas Pale, Magic Rock Saucery, Abbeydale Voyager & Sureshot Sam Vines Boot Theory.
Inside was nice and warm. The bar staff were friendly and knowledgeable, whilst the pub was also busy with a mixed crowd of both drinkers and diners.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Wisewood Inn
Now a Loxley Brewery tap, this traditional-looking pub has been given quite smart (if plain) semi-modern makeover fairly recently by the look of things. Also seemed to be doing notably good business with family dining groups on a Sunday afternoon. Rear terraced beer garden with great views across the River Loxley valley below. I found five of the six handpumps in use, all offering its own beers, and my Lomas five hop pale ale (£3.30) was very enjoyable.

Will Larter left this review about The Wisewood Inn
The Wisewood Inn is easily reached by bus from Hillsborough or the city centre, or in my case by going first to Oughtibridge and then Worrall, stopping at all the pubs along the way. The pub was very busy by the time I arrived mid-Sunday afternoon, with family groups stuffing themselves in preparation for Christmas. The pub has an unusual layout, with the entrance on the left, then two long rooms, front and back, running the width of the pub and the bar at the far right end, facing both rooms. There are five hand pumps, with a mixture of local and not so local beers. I went for the Acorn Barnsley Bitter which was in good condition but a little cold. "Craft" keg beers are also available. There is a display of numerous past pump clips on the walls, also lots of stuffed birds and animals. There's a view across the Loxley valley from the back window. My notes made at the time mention a "very bad Christmas CD". Given that I can't stand 99% of the songs that tend to appear in October each year in pubs, supermarkets and shopping malls, this one must have been spectacularly bad for me to mention it; fortunately it has faded from my memory in the months since my visit here.
