This pub has been acquired by True North brewery and reopened in February 2017 after a refurbishment. The original old building (to the right) was extended by the addition of a newer, stone built single storey structure - but this was in 1920. Recent work was mostly internal, and seems to have been just a matter of sprucing and modernising.
It's the sort of pub that attracts families with small children, some of whom had excess energy after a whole week at school, and the sort of high pitched, penetrating voices that have you drinking your beer quicker than you intended and heading for the door. Others were better behaved than that.
There are three hand pumps on the left of the centrally placed bar: two True North beers, the Best Bitter and the Pale Ale, joined by a guest from Acorn. The Best was in good enough condition, but this is not a pub I would make an effort to get to again.

The Waggon and Horses is a decent looking stone built pub in the millhouses area of Sheffield.
Once inside the pub is long and narrow and has been opened out into one room that has different drinking areas, the pub was quite smart and cosy inside and there were five real ales on the bar i had a drink of Stones bitter which was a decent drink the other beers wer Bass, tetley bitter, John Smiths cask and GK IPA.
I thought this was a decent pub.
