The Turf Tavern is a decent looking stone built pub that is quite close to the Handsworth Inn.
Once inside the bar faces in a long narrow room which runs the width of the pub,the room is carpeted and the seating was mainly small tables and stools,there was one bench seat to the far right,there was a TV at each end of the room showing Sky football updates.
There were two unused pumps on the bar,i had a drink of keg Tetley smooth was a pretty crap drink,the other beer was John Smiths smooth crap.
This is a decent cosy pub that is badly let down by the lack of any real ales on the bar.

I lived in the turf while i was growing up with my parents and 2 brothers. the turf is a great family pub the customers are freindly so are the ghost's that haunt the turf. we often heard them walking round opening and closing doors expecially in the function room and cellar areas. and once saw a jar of lemons floating across the bar area.
