My first visit for a couple of years, and I was pleased to find two different beers in very good condition (Wadworth 6X and Theakston Old Peculier - I didn’t try the Bradfield Farmer's Blonde). I get the impression that different operators take this pub on, seeing it surrounded by office buildings and being just on the edge of the city centre and think they'll make a go of it. But times have changed: beer tourists are drawn to Kelham Island, evening drinkers are drawn to the city, but this pub is equidistant from both. With beer quality like this I really hope the present operators do well.

A good looking pub that upon entry we were disappointed to find the solitary cask beer on offer was Titanic Plum Porter, a beer that divides opinion and the opinion of the bulk of our small group was it's not for us so we swiftly moved on without taking a drink. The pub though on a very quick inspection is worthy of a visit and will rate it with 7/10 as such.

Classic flat iron pub, long thin place with counter to rear right. Six pulls, only a poorer than normal Bradfield plus two reversed and three blanks. Victorian style interior with banquette seating and Britannia tables. Apparently under new owners so it might improve.
