A large hotel with dramatic views and sited a few yards from the Jarlshof prehistoric and Norse settlement. The main bar-cum-eatery is a fairly plush and formal affair, with blue carpet and neutral shades. No cask ale available but there’s Innis and Gunn lager on tap as well as a good range of bottles from BrewDog, Orkney and Lerwick breweries. We ate here and the food was rather middling. It’s worth a stop for the views and a beer if you can bag it on a calm day.
