Unfortunately this is not my sort of pub at all. We got here mid-afternoon when the atmosphere was convivial, with families with small children having a few drinks after their Sunday lunch. Some people looked as though they were in for a long session, though, and I can imagine it getting pretty raucous once the little kids have been taken home.
It's quite a smart building of its type, and well presented, the main downside for me I suppose being the poor choice of beers available on the bar: it's a Greene King house. Choice is probably not the word to use when the selection is to be made from Old Golden Hen, an abomination of a beer; the famously tasteless Greene King IPA, one time champion beer of Great Britain (when they sent the only barrel to ever taste of anything to the Camra beer festival); and Ruddles Best, a beer whose name prompts the thought, "what must the rest be like?"
The best thing I have to say about the Spitfire is that it broke up the long walk between the Mother Red Cap and the Fleur de Lys.

The Shepley Spitfire is a modern pub in the totley area of Sheffield.
This pub was opened by kimberley brewery and it still had their signs outside but the pub is now a Greene King Pub.
Once inside there was one large open plan room with different drinking areas with some of them raised slightly.
There were two real ales on the bar i had a drink ot GK IPA which was bland but drinkable the other beer was GK Abbot.
This pub is comfortable enough but is a bit out of the way and mainly caters for the people living on the estate that it is in.
