Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Sheaf View

Nowadays, you would need a really vivid imagination to imagine you could see the river from here (although it is just down the bottom of the hill), but it is quite an imposing 3½-storey building benefiting from its position beside the leafy Heeley People's Park. You enter the bar by a corner door but the room turns out to be larger than the fenestration would suggest, and further seating is available in a conservatory area and out in the beer garden. Great selection of real ales from the two banks of four handpumps, including three from Neepsend, Night Jar School Night, Cross Bay 'The Bitter' Vesper (£1.40, half), Horbury Tiramisu, Whim Armadillo and Imperial 1650. Well worth seeking out, and I'll certainly be back after this first flying visit.

In a slighly scruffy part of Sheffield, the Sheaf View is an impressive pub and very well worth the effort to find.It is dedicated to decent real ale and there is also a big selection of craft keg beers and bottled beers. The high ceiling and open plan interior give an airy feel to the pub,and it is clearly popular with locals and CAMRA members alike. The 8 handpumps were drawing Imperial Pithead Bitter (good nick, very reasonable at £2.40),Blue Bee Landed Up IPA,Milton Pegasus,Springhead Maid Marion,Thwaites Stolen IPA,Acorn Blonde & Old Moor Porter and Kelham Island Easy Rider,a decent and varied selection across a number of styles and strengths. The top price for a pint was £2.70 for a strong IPA.Nice.
I would seek this place out again,it deserves to be popular.

Real Ale Ray left this review about The Sheaf View

Another nicely chosen pub by Will for his birthday crawl. The ten minute bus journey out of town was definitely worth it. Once in sight of the pub situated up a side road, the pub became even more alluring, because of its position and its appealing architecture. This Georgian red brick pub, built in 1816, was formerly a hotel.
Eight ales to choose from on our visit, I went for the Imperial Brewery Pithead Pale Ale and the Milton Brewery Pegasus, both were excellent. There was a good variety of cobs on the bar.
