Mid afternoon on a sunny Friday I found the pub quite busy, luckily I managed to find a small table spare on the outside river terrace , the outside space being the prime selling point of the pub in my book, this will obviously not be the case in the winter months. My pint of Red Willow Headless went down well and I enjojed half an hour sat in the sun but probably not a pub I would seek out on a regular basis.

The KSP of this one, as they say in marketing parlance, is the riverside undercover outside terrace at the back of the pub, with its interesting ship mural on the brick wall beneath it, (which is best viewed from the other died of the river) and the substantial outside patio section to the side of the pub.
I could see both of these were completely packed out as I crossed the bridge to find the front entrance for this pub, but it was still quite surreal to walk into a pub where virtually all the internal seating was empty but there was a still a scrum three deep at the bar.
Fortunately the bar staff were doing a decent job of getting through the throng and i soon found myself infront of a bank of three hand pumps with three True North beers on in the shape of First Blonde, IPA and Riverside Best and as try as I might but due to a large group of blokes being served in front of them I couldn’t clearly see what was on the other bank of four pumps, except for making out Blue Bee Tempest Stout, and Black Jack Snip Snap Snorum. I went for the True North Blonde which was a decent enough golden ale. There was also lots of shiney keg taps and there looked like a decent range of craft brews available as well..
I can see why this one is popular with the millennials, who were packing out the outside spaces on this particular late Saturday lunchtime.

It was very busy and rather noisy when I was here on Friday afternoon, with what I reckon would be a largely post-work crowd, mostly 30-something males. There are seven hand pumps, as far as I could make out with a crowd around the bar, four beers from True North and three guests. There were Tiny Rebel Mango Milkshake, Acorn Blonde and Squawk Crex. I went for the last named, as much for its very attractive pump clip as anything else, which was in very good condition (the beer, not the pump clip). It was very cold, and I reckon 50% of the people present would have been sitting or standing outside in warmer weather. This is obviously a very popular pub, but it has somehow never quite floated my boat. Others will obviously think differently.
