Much as I remember it from previous visits, probably before the pandemic. There are five hand pumps rather than the ten (yes, really ten!) mentioned in my review the same number of years ago. Three Greene King stable beers (see photo) plus local Abbeydale Moonshine and Broadfield Belgian Blue. My GK IPA bitter, now 3.4%, was in good condition, as was the Moonshine (both NBSS 3 to 3.5) though I would not normally cross the street for either of these beers, except for the purpose of research. This is not a pub to refuse to be dragged to by your mates, and it wouldn't hurt to pop in voluntarily from time to time either.

Very food led pub with a large conservatory overlooking what I assume is Porter Brook. We managed to get a seat in here as the rest of the pub was very full. It's a fairly generic pub with no outstanding features really. Three Greene King beers available plus one each from Abbeydale and Stancill. My pint was in decent condition as well. Not sure it's the best option for beer range round here anymore with a couple of micropubs nearby.

Formerly a Hogshead, this is now owned by Greene King but the range of ales usually available extends to the local Abbeydale Brewery as well. AT the time of my visit, the 10 hand pumps were split 60/40 in favour of GK.It's still got that bare-boards alehouse feel of the old Hoghead style, though there are carpeted areas away from the bar, which occupies most of the wall on the left. Mostly standard pub furniture, with a few high tables. Some fairly subdued pop music can be heard. Toilets are upstairs, though there is one for disabled persons on the ground floor. The most publike of the drinking joints in this part of Ecclesall Road, this is also the best option around here for the range and quality of beers available, and I never thought I would say that about a Greene King pub.
