A multi-roomed pub that must have been lively in the days when there was a railway station here - two other pubs nearby have been demolished and replaced by a Sainsbury's superstore, but the two remaining pubs still find it a struggle. I've been in the Railway across the road when it's been lively, but my visit here was during a midweek flat spot. The central area has been opened out, leaving the original rooms almost intact: just without doors and (internal) walls. A small central bar has two hand pumps, with only Sharps Doom Bar available at the time of my visit.
