The Masons is a big square building just behind the church, which I assumed before entering would be one big room with a central bar. Surprisingly, though, the original layout of two contrasting rooms remains intact. To the right is what I would characterise as the public bar, with a TV showing ITV (quite loud) and a couple of bandits. On the bar were three hand pumps with beers from Copper Dragon, Adnams and Wychwood.
I took my beer through to the other room (the lounge? - neither room is labelled) to get away from the TV. Part of this room is carpeted, with comfortable and smartly upholstered bench seating. The remainder, near the bar and the bay window seen in the photo, has floorboards and, near the window, a giant game of Jenga, made from sawn wooden blocks which give off a pleasant smell. I was the only customer in here, but I could imagine that this would be quite a pleasant room even when there's a crowd in.
