Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Head of Steam
Quite different to most other Head of Steam outlets I've been to, and this one is something of a mixture. If you enter from the main (Norfolk Street) side with its imposing bank façade, you find the main bar area with an island counter under a high moulded ceiling (albeit with rather more modern furniture and decor than most converted banking halls have). However, if you enter via the Tudor Square entrance (at the base of a very dull office block) you find a more gastro-pub type dining area under a much lower ceiling. Two banks of five handpumps, offering the regular Cameron's Strongarm and Motorhead Road Crew supplemented by Landlord and a good choice of local Yorkshire beers including my Five Card Draw (£5.60) as one of a pair from Brass Castle. Various craft keg beers too, and what looked like an extensive range of bottled offerings in the fridges.

A very impressive building, which was a former bank at some stage. The interior is a similar roll out model to other Cameron's outlets, but nevertheless the front part of the pub has the original coffered ceiling on show, with the rear of the pub looking quite industrial and trendy. Ten handpumps with 7 in use on our Thursday Lunchtime visit. The cask line up was Neepsend Brew Co Blonde, Acorn Brewery Barnsley Bitter, Thornbridge Hirundo and Jaipur, Camerons Strongarm and Motorhead Road Crew, Tooth and Claw Brewery Barley-Quin.

Large square drinking barn, rammed on a Saturday night as you’d expect. Square servery in the front middle of the place, hand pumps on the front face plus loads of kegs on the others. An interesting mix of beers but the crowding doesn’t improve the drinking experience. Hen and stag party country at the weekend.
