During a recent Wednesday evening visit to the Wellington there was something going on in the left-hand bar so I decided to give it a miss after a recent experience of ending up in a terrible pub comedy night with no means of escape. I should mention that I have no idea what was going on in there, I just mention the comedy night as a past reference. The right-hand serving counter is found directly ahead of the entrance and there’s a thick carpeted seating area to the right front. The seven hand pumps were drawing five from Neepsend Brewery alongside Big Trip’s Winnebago Hotbox and Intrepid’s Solito. The barman was polite and the Neepsend Vulcan was good in this traditional pub that’s worth a look.

Another eclectic beer focused pub in not the most inspiring location, this one with a very interesting clientele and conversation buzzing throughout the pub. This area of Sheffield really is blessed!

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Wellington
First revisit for some 12 years to this heritage pub with a very traditional interior that features a seat-less main bar, a side room on the right-hand side of the entrance and separate lounge with a small counter to the left. Five real ales available from a total of eight handpumps on this visit, with four from Neepsend and an excellent Hartington Bitter from Whim Ales (£3.30) as a guest. I really must get back more often!
