The Anglers Rest is an estate pub that is situated away from the middle of Handsworth.
Once inside there is an oblong shaped bar to the right,this room extends to the rear of the pub,the room is quite smart and carpeted,there was comfy bench seating and chairs,there was is a pool table to the rear,the lounge to the left is also veey smart with comfy bench seating and normal tables and chairs,there are no pumps in this room.
There were two real ales on the bar,i had a drink of Courage best which was a decent drink,the other beer was Bombardier.
The pub was very busy on my Saturday afternoon visit.
This was a very pleasant pub that just goes to show how estate pubs can be smartened up to suit a wider customer base.
