A Hungry Horse eating emporium, the eating section is screened off a bit with glass and residual walls where two bars once existed. Two doors still exist and they say “Dining Entrance” off the carpark and “Bar entrance” off the pavement. Four pulls in the more drinking oriented bar, two more in the dining area, only Abbot and IPA actually on in spite of clips showing otherwise. I had an IPA (I know, I know) but it would have been better on my chips, they swapped it without question for an Abbot which was actually pretty good, have they changed the recipe? Usual screens and machines, piped music and some navy surplus paint. There’s a pool table and mostly tall seating in the drinking area.

A large family dining pub in the Hungry Horse chain, with typical garish modern interior, liberally sprinkled with adverts and special offers, but fine for taking the kids to. Draught ales at time of visit were GK IPA and Speckled Hen; sadly despite Greene King quality assurance and Cask Marque listing, the sampled IPA had definitely seen better days. Large car park and outdoor area at rear, and handy for the station.
