Old Boots left this review about The Duncan
A Sam Smith's pub in the heart of Leeds with two bars. The rear one is a bleak windowless room enlivened by a few pictures at the back and filled with the usual happy Sam's characters, there is a pool table and machines plus the rear wall of mirrors which is designed to brighten up the place but only serve to remind you of the pitifulness of your existence. The front snug has a little more character with leather benches and Napoleonic period pictures of Admiral Duncan, after whom the pub is named. Heated arguments about daytime TV and such like seemed the main topic of conversation here, but at least they were talking. All the beer is served from little boxes on the bar, it's a bit cold but bloody cheap!
