Have been intrigued by this "live music and sports" venue, as I often drive past. Parking is a bit limited but today, I am on foot discovering the area.
No cask - with HPA and Butty pumps turned around. Cruzcampo a decent enough lager.
Couldn't tell where the bands played. There was a big screen at the far end of a thin bar. Other seating at the front window and on the opposite side of the bar.
Curiosity itch scratched. Not sure I need to come back.

Situated opposite the Royal Grammar School in Worcester, this pub looks quite promising from the outside. Inside is a huge disappointment. It has the feel of a cocktail bar, with lots of garish decorations, loud music and TV screens. The TV screens were showing music, but not the same music as on the speakers.
We arrived to find just the barmaid and 2 other customers, who were both out the front smoking. A few did arrive just before we left. I sense this is more of a late night place.
HPA & Rocking Rudolph were the real ales. I doubt they would tempt me back.

Real Ale Ray left this review about Cap'N'Gown
We were looking forward to visiting this pub to get a decent pint of Hook Norton beer. To our disappointment, the beer had a smell of bleach to it, maybe from how the glasses are stored, picking up fumes from the floor perhaps. The barman seemed to be there to kill a few hours and didn't seem interested in the customers. The majority of the customers here were drinking keg lager. Also, the toilets were filthy. This pub really needs a good sorting out.
