Alarm bells rang on entering the single bar, a solitary pull at one end of the counter not the expected 3 changing beers reported on Whatpub, Malden man had it correct and it was the same beer on this time. A lot of outside space is available here, to the side with a smoking shelter and to the rear. Otherwise a big comfortably furnished room of tables with armchairs and stools, with a couple of dining tables and chairs by one of the front windows and to one side. Probably does carvery judging by the kit in one corner along with lots of community type stuff which given its location is to be expected and to be admired. Not a pub for many users of this site but it has a useful functioning modern twist on the community pub of old.

An opened out squareish single room, the bar is on an end wall. Boarded floor, bucket seats and leather chairs at standard tables. Just the one handpump on serving St Georges Lazy Days, a box behind the bar offered a cider from Barbourne. There is a large selection of bottled beers too. Pub games are seemingly big here, Ring the Bull has a list of high scorers and there is something else called Crockinole. Food is served and is keenly priced, ploughmans £5.50, chicken and mushroom curry with rice and chips a pound dearer.
An outdoor area to the rear has a tepee shelter, as well as a number of picnic tables.
Much is made of a one time visit by the yellow three wheeler from Only Fools and Horses with photos aplenty.
A friendly and lively pub well worth a look if crawling around St Johns, there was a very friendly and exuberant chocolate Labrador in attendance, not sure if he belonged to the pub or was with a customer but he felt very much at home.
