A large and thoroughly refurbished Davenports pub (I didn’t know that brand was still going?!). Very modern in turquoise and white, done to a high spec and actually I thought pretty well executed. 2x Davenports and GK OSH (why??). A half of their Stout was par, NBSS 3, even if the brew itself was piss weak. In a similar - if concurrent - manner to the Golden Lion, it’s worth a nose if you’re on an extended crawl of town.

The Post House is a Davenports pub where I counted three hand pumps that were drawing their CB Original and IPA alongside Sharp’s Solar Wave on the L-shaped serving counter. Standard and premium keg were also available alongside their RiP, which was also on keg. In the left side of the pub is a small seating area with some tidy banquettes and a fireplace stuffed with logs on the left-hand wall. High tables runs along the front walls under the gaze of a television that was showing Premier League darts via Sky Sports during my recent Thursday evening visit. The bar area is found up the right where the serving counter runs up the left facing a seating area where karaoke was in progress to the right, the people of Kiddy are very friendly but their singing skills leave a lot to be desired. To the left rear is a pool table that is overlooked by a television that was airing Euro football via TNT Sports. Regular live music is advertised for the weekends. Out the back is a large patio with very long picnic tables, around half of which are covered. This is a decent local that had a good atmosphere, even though I can’t stand karaoke so it’s worth a look.
