Pretty much exactly as I recalled it from 11 years back. A great selection of cask and I enjoyed my scoops of Batham's (NBSS 4) and Three Acre Christmas Ale (3.5). Very close between here and the nearby Chester Tavern for best pub in town. The pair being so close together means that alighting at the nearby train station for a couple of pints is a no-brainer.

Another classic railway refreshment room (although this one is a loving re-creation rather than an original survivor). A large traditional T-shaped room, with painted red wallpaper, drape curtains and GWR roundel carpet. Some people elsewhere have commented on a lack of atmosphere but it was certainly buzzing (unexpectedly so) on my Sunday evening visit. Six ales; Stancil Blonde, Kinver Edge, Cottage Golden Arrow, Bathams Bitter, Hobsons Town Crier and Mild. Both the Batham's and Hobson's Mild were in good form. Extremely handy for both railway stations (Severn Valley Railway and mainline BR) so you’d be daft to miss it. Rated 9

This pub continues to impress and as I now use Kidderminster station a lot I call in fairly often. Still a great selection of ales on. Always Batham's and other locals plus a couple of more unusual offerings. I had Urban Rhythm from Anarchy on my last visit.
The beer is always in good nick. A must do pub!

The King & Castle is in an old railway building that has been meticulously revamped into a historical railway bar and refreshment room. The floor is tiled in the bar area where a marble topped serving counter runs up the left-hand wall. Premium keg was available alongside Carling and four keg ciders, and I counted eight hand pumps with five in operation that were drawing Hobson’s Pale and Town Crier (had better), Bewdley’s Worcestershire Way, Batham’s Best and Oakham’s Citra. To the right is a GWR carpet where red upholstered chairs and benches run under the windows along the front and rear to a fireplace on the right-hand wall. A door at the end of the serving counter leads to the toilets and a large dining area at the rear that was being cleaned. This venue is right next to the station so you’d have to actively avoid it to not visit, which would be madness.
