Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Star & Garter

Basic town-centre boozer, with the two-part main bar housed in the unusual curved corner part of this old building. A smaller bar, containing the pool table, can be found on the other side of the central servery. With a solitary and very disused handpump, the limited keg choice features the likes of Worthington's (£3.50), Sharp's Atlantic and Madri.

Pretty lively town centre pub well used by the locals. No ales on so we had a lager and enjoyed a game of pool. The table had the worst roll I have ever played on which made the game more fun to be fair. Excellent service by the barmaid who whizzed round with a mop when my brother knocked a pint over! More than happy to call in again.

Walked in here on a Sat afternoon and the jukebox was on full volume, plus am not a great fan of Rod Stewart. The two women in direct contact with the jukebox looked well on. There were a couple of elderly blokes sat by the window enjoying the performance. There was a quieter room on the right hand side, but it was still difficult to escape the loud music. One ale on handpump, Adnams Southwold.
