Despite the Bank Holiday, this one stuck resolutely to its normal Monday hours. Given the gumpf on the exterior I assumed this would be a battered ‘plub’ but actually it's rather well-done for a modern place and someone has expended a bit of time and effort (and cash!). Three or four old rooms knocked-through longways. Stone floor, exposed brick and all fairly tasteful. The pool table at the far end was looked-after with a proper hung lamp. Three pumps with just Wadworth 6X on, though the friendly laddish barman poured a chunk off and I ended-up with a decent half for my troubles (NBSS 3.5). Mix of music from the classic to the modern awful - I guess this is Trow's nightspot but to be fair they served-up the best beer of the day in decent surroundings and for that they should be applauded. 6.5

A recent reopening in Trowbridge that from my research I was expecting a more food orientated premises so I was very surprised that today on my visit it seems very far from that. A modern interior with some old beams supporting various front sections of the pub are very pleasant. It is also deceptively a long premises which after passing the bar on the left hand side when entering continues to the rear where the toilets are with a mixture of table types in the centre of the floor space and built into the edges as benches.

There where about 4 hand pumps on offer.
