On a recent walk along the nearby Thames Path I came across this place just after a power cut. However, the landlord made me feel very welcome and advised me that only his handpumps were working. No problem - although the Doom Bar is not on my list of good beers it was well presented and very welcome after the days exertions. After a while he managed to get the other pumps working and I moved onto Weston's Stowford Press. Would I use the pub again when next in the area - most certainly. This is a down-to-earth family run pub in a stuck-up village. I'll not mention the name of or review the other pub I visited in this village as I was treated and looked upon as something putrid that the cat had just brought in.
