Final pub on a crawl that took in all places - most of which I actually decided to have a drink.
All the atmosphere for the town in here and over the road at the bear. This place, having a Chas and Dave tribute band who were actually very good. I know this sounds like an oxymoron.
Wadworth house and the Swordfish as again average.
I was surprised that out of the 8 pubs, none have made it in the GBG in 2026. With the exception of the Marlborough, I now know why.
No point taking an external photo, as it is covered by scaffold in May 26. Inside, it was multi room, low ceiling and too packed to investigate.

Backstreet pub, looks like a row of cottages knocked together but I might be wrong. Old coaching door still in use and some nice hanging flora made it look inviting. A rambling warren of areas within and higgledy-piggledy furnishings. A decent patio courtyard is located to the rear. Unusable dart board and a retro-style jukebox (though modern in age). Old heavy entrance doors provoked favourable comment. A Wadworth house with four of their ales on stillage, served from what appeared to be oak casks. My Horizon, unfortunately, was rather lackadaisical. Slightly odd place, didn't feel quite right though I can’t put my finger on exactly why.

The Lamb is a really nice looking pub with lots of hanging baskets outside it is on a narrow side street just off the high street.
This pub is a wadworths tied house and i had a drink of Wadworth 6X this was a decent drink the pub is larger inside than it looks from the outside and looking at the signs outside it does accomadation, the pub was very quiet on my visit.
