We visited here on the way home from Newbury Races on our local Club outing. Our organiser looked at the Royal Oak earlier in the year as a stop-off point for a meal for what ended up as a 52 seat coach load. For the faint-hearted coach driver, not somewhere to drive to without exploring the route first - VERY narrow lanes and only just enough space to turn round at the car park entrance.
Pub-wise, Wadworth's 6X straight from the barrel and one guest beer "Down Under". Being straight from the barrel, beer was excellent, if a bit pricey at £3.30. Food-wise, all were more than happy with the three-course meals we had pre-ordered.
We will be returning next year, if not before!
