A slightly quirky Wadworths pub on the main road through. The building dates back to the 16th Century, and it’s on a steep hill which makes it seem a bit imposing from the front. There is a large secluded garden at the back. Inside, there is a small snug to the left as you enter , then there is a large bar which is conjoined with a dining room. There is a games area with a pool table and dart board, and there is a separate skittle alley. They also have a TV and projector, and there are occasional live music acts. The staff were very helpful, and very welcoming. The clientele were on the elderly side, mostly diners. They also offer B&B and restaurant-standard food. Ales on were 6X, Horizon and Henry’s IPA, all in excellent condition. This was a really enjoyable visit and one I shall certainly repeat.
