Looks alright from the outside, an aged building with a fair bit of history attached I would have thought. Inside has two different rooms via a porch. Sadly these are grim, dark, damp and decaying to the point of seediness. Gloomy feel with cheap furniture and bizarre orange and mustard walls. Four pumps with no ale so a half of Blackthorn Dry sufficed. No fridges switched on either. In the corner my fellow drinker told his phone buddy about how awful Chippenham is, made it sound like a gang-ridden favela, well he picked the right kind of pub to make me wonder about life here. A pub on its knees - it could be a cracker in the right hands and about £75k invested. But who wants to invest money in small wet-led pubs these days?

Still stand by my original review, but here is some extras. Visited during the Chippenham To?k Festival, one whole bar was full of musicians, doing a jam session, if that is the correct term. I managed to get in an order a pint of ale, can't remember what, as I've been INA few pubs that day. Loved the free music and the friendly atmosphere.
