Large upmarket hotel. A lot of money has been thrown at it on a recent refurb and to be fair it's rather well done in a very middle class sort of way. Fairly grand entrance leading to the main bar which is split into three discrete areas, with the left for dining. Main bar has a large skylight which works well and makes for pleasant light and airy feel. Two ales on, both Flying Monk beers; my Elmers clearly hadn't seen much action for a few days and was a flat musty nothingness (NBSS 1.5). One bonus was the friendly barmaid who at least read a book rather than her phone when bored. In the context of Chippenham this place has potential to be a nice bar but nobody in charge cares enough about the cellar. Maybe just get rid of the ale.

Pricey bar in Best Western hotel located between the Four Seasons and the Bear. Poor beer quality from two hand pumps and standard mid market hotel type décor.
