Will Larter left this review about Bar Three
The combination of multiple TV screens showing sports, a mix of booth seating and high tables, and a soundtrack of dreadful modern synthetic pop music says "stay away". Craft beers are prominently boosted, with four taps on the bar back from Tiny Rebel and Beavertown, but there are also a couple of hand pumps on the right hand end of the bar counter, which could easily be missed if someone happens to be standing there. Just one beer on (though another had just gone off and the pipes were being cleaned): Pennine Heartland in very good condition (NBSS 3.5) but ferociously pricey at £3.15 for a half. I asked the server how much a pint would have been, and he checked in the till: it was on offer at £4.75, so I guess the regular price might have been £5.25 or £5.50. This is for wealthy country folk. Or, looking around, ordinary looking locals, not all of them younger than me. A wall opposite the bar has a large collection of pump clips, so this pub is a (fairly quiet) promoter of cask beer after all.

Presumably an old town pub, which has been modernised into a sort of sports cocktail bar, if that is not a contradiction in terms. Rather naff grey decor, with equally naff furnishings and numerous sports screens; even the garden has a row of naff stools for no apparent reason. The saving grace was a decent pint of Black Sheep, and there were a few craft keg on the wall behind also.

A few changes from my last couple of visits, two pulls of expensive casks, one from Pennine and the other an average Purity Mad Goose, two T-bars with a total of 10 kegs. Seating is at tables and chairs at various heights further back, some in booths each of which has a small screen to compliment the larger few dotted about, all on horse racing. A few tables were reserved. Full of bright young things as well as the not so bright and not so young.
