Old Boots left this review about The Horse & Hound

Although having changed name the interior is much the same as before. The name celebrates the two pubs that once graced the village, the other one being the now closed Greyhound. Down to three pulls but with Taylors Landlord and Purity Mad Goose, now thought to be a local beer brewed at Masham, Kirkstall Three Swords would have been available as I spotted a couple of nines in the yard. No Brixton or Beavertown as they’re sticking with Latin lager Guinness and a cider plus Heineken on a solo. Outside is an old phone box being used as a community hub with library.

Having had a few changes of owner over the past few years the inside is a little different to my earlier review. Now a rectangular room with a central servery, the right hand end is a more formal dining area labelled restaurant on a no dogs sign. The middle part opposite the counter has a large kitchen table with banquette seating while the left hand end is laid out with square wooden tables in a more informal dining area. Four hand pumps but only two on mid week, Ossett Excelsus and one from the very local Bosuns, a horseshoe carries six kegs all national brands but a little more interesting than some, Beavertown, Brixton and Moretti among them. There’s a collection of pump clips from Yorkshire breweries on plate racks around the walls. Home made cakes are also available. The various areas are distinguished by differing wall colours. Seems to have a fair local trade and there are notices for village events.

Old Boots left this review about Bay Horse Inn

A village pub with a long bar across the width of pub with an L shaped counter serving what would have been two rooms. The larger left hand end is mainly set up for dining the other end has a dart board. Five pulls on the longer leg of the counter with Doombar, Copper Dragon and Black Sheep Bitter, a single pull at the other end serves Old Rosie cider. There's also a few lagers and two varieties of Strongbow. Plain decor of white walls decorated with sporting cartoons with light green and black woodwork furnished with traditional wood pub /kitchen chairs and tables with a couple of settles and banquette seating carpeted throughout.
