Old Boots left this review about Halfway House
Large two bar pub on a crossroads, very busy, mainly with female customers on a Friday lunchtime when I called in. I used the right hand bar as I didn’t see an entrance to the other, it’s actually off the car park. Three pulls on the counter, Leeds Pale (very poor), a Christmas thing from Butcombe and a white handled Black Sheep Flagsheep pull with the clip reversed. Wide range of kegs as well. Off the right hand bar is a large side room, which appears to be a function room and accounted for the young female punters getting in the way. Jazzy wallpaper and carpet with mostly banquette seating, there’s a raised seating area at one end of the bar but I’m not sure of it’s purpose, it probably doubles as a stage; Karaoke and DJ are advertised. Toilets are marked Lads & Lasses and are found in a rear vestibule by the car park entrance door, this confused one old bloke (not me) who thought Lads said Ladies.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about Old Halfway House
Landmark building located, as the name suggests, at the mid-point of the main road between Leeds and Wakefield in the curiously named ex-mining village of Robin Hood. Retaining two separate bars and some etched windows, it still has some residual character despite an anonymous semi-modern refurbishment inside. Used to offer real ale, but not nowadays unfortunately, so only stayed for a quick John Smiths (£1.55, half) before getting back on the bus.
