Bar 42 is set back from bank street so there is room for outside seating,not in use on my visit as it was really cold.
Once inside there is an irregular shaped room through the main entrance,the bar faces,the seating is a mix of high backed bench seating and daft looking stools,there are more tall tables and chairs to the left, the room was packed on my late Saturday afternoon visit with what seemed like a more upmarket type of drinker.
There is a separate oblong shaped dining room to the right,this room was for diners only.
There were three real ales on the bar i had a drink of Ossett Pridewood Progress,this drink tasted slightly off,the other beers were Taylor Landlord and Ossett Yorkshire Blonde.
This pub seemed very popular but it is not really my sort of pub.
