Will Larter left this review about The Sun Tavern

Now operated by Punch Taverns under their Unity brand, and has had a very smart refurbishment, with a marble fireplace preserved but seemingly everything else brand new. No cask beer but my half of Guinness was a very reasonable £4/pint and although very cold soon became drinkable. As well as sports on TV there is a screen showing departures from Shipley's complicated triangular station - make sure you know where your platform is and how to get there, and leave plenty of time for crossing the busy roads.

Old Boots left this review about The Sun Hotel

Classic, flat iron shaped, large pub, obviously an important venue in its Victorian heyday now sunk to a mediocre town centre pub. A smaller than expected triangular room with an L shaped counter, mostly done out in shades of grey woodwork, there’s a nice old marble fireplace. Seating is mainly banquettes at rectangular wooden tables although there’s some half height posing tables. Beerwise just a sad collection of the usual suspects.

Alan Winfield left this review about The Sun Hotel

The Sun Hotel is a large pub that is opposite the Sir Norman Rae Wetherspoons, ironically this pub was run by Wetherspoons until the Sir Norman Rae opened.
Once inside the main bar room is on the left side, this room is L shaped and carpeted, the seating is comfy bench type and a few tall tables and chairs, there is another room up some steps to the right,i did not look into this room, there is also a pool table which is down some steps.
There are no real ales on the bar,i had a drink of Theakston Best which was a pretty poor drink, the other keg bitter was John Smiths smooth crap.
There were two TVs one showing sky sports football previews, the other horse racing previews.
Quiet background music was playing.
The pub was quite busy on my pre 11am visit.
