A large, traditional looking, stone built Greene King pub in the centre of Baildon. Inside it has been modernised to some extent leaving a long room raised at one end, being on a hillside the ceiling levels vary a bit. The counter is slightly to the right as you enter with seating to the left on banquettes and at chairs and tables, more high tables are opposite the counter and the raised level at the far right has more dining level tables and chairs with the toilets up another flight of stairs. Five T-Bars grace the counter with the usual lager, Guinness and cider lines, the left end has five pulls, the taller middle one with Landlord, a Greene King rugby themed one, Old Golden Hen and a reasonable Saltaire Blonde, nowt on the fifth. Screens in all areas, machines and piped music as well as the grey paint job make it a bit of an identikit town pub. A few nicer features still remain, the fire place mentioned by Real Ale Ray for example. A fancy smoking shelter is opposite the patio.

Real Ale Ray left this review about The Angel
A decent and presentable pub, that was well staffed on our visit. The layout consists of a central lounge and bar area in the middle section. A good sized lounge with a sandstone fireplace on the left of entrance and a raised section up from the right of the bat area. The décor was a mix of grey painted woodwork, wallpapered walls, timber flooring and an oak bar. There was also a patio area for the alfresco drinkers, just across from the car park entrance. Five ales on handpump on our visit, St Austell Tribute, Doombar, GK IPA, Saltaire Blonde and Un-Beer-Lievable a World Cup Special. I went for the World cup special, which was a good golden ale.
