A square stone building at right angles to the road, the single entrance in the gable end is labelled “lounge bar” but leads to a single square room with a couple of more discreet areas. The U shaped servery is centre left with high seating to each side and in front are a pair of copper topped Britannias with stools. To the right are more differentiated sitting areas with residual walls and different wall treatments. there are screens in most areas and of course piped music, the decor is fairly wood based. Two T-bars of usual brands, a sizeable 1664 fount, plus three handpulls with autovac serving Dizzy Blonde, Landlord and an outrageously priced and short measured, White Rat at £5.50, I pay £4.20 in my local free house and less in Ossett tied houses! To be fair the Rat was fine but not a NBSS 4. Mainly old lad punters on my afternoon visit, I expect the customer profile changes at night and weekends. It does have some magnificent urinals.

The Marsh is a strange looking pub with the frontage having a door and two very small windows.
Once inside there is a single square shaped room with the bar on the left side, the room is divided into three separate areas, the seating is comfy bench type with tall stools and a drinking shelf to the rear left, the room is carpeted throughout and the ceiling beamed probably false.
There were three real ales on the bar,i had a drink of Ossett White Rabbit which was quite a nice drink, the other beers were Leeds Pale and Taylor Landlord.
There was some quiet background music playing, food was being served during my Saturday dinner visit.
This is a comfortable pub that seems to be a draw for people wanting to dine, but it is still a proper pub.
