Nice looking exterior apart from the modern front extension, badly modernised inside with fake beams and exposed stone. A single long room across the width with the counter in the middle and running back into the room. There are three unused hand pumps mockingly adorned with Guinness tat when I popped in. A couple of T-Bars and solos for keg drinkers. Carpet and laminate floor, one long banquette and some high and low tables. A few screens but little decor, a Guinness mirror here, a picture there, and a few advertisements. Ignore the minimum card purchase limit sign “it’ll tear the wallpaper if we take it down”! yelped the barmaid. The adjacent building appears to be a related function room. Not one for me.

The Jug and Barrel looks like a well kept pub that looks like it has had a small extension to the front.
Once inside there is a single irregular shaped room with the bar in the middle area, the front area looked quite nice and had a stone tiled floor, the seating in this area is comfortable bench seating, the seating in the main room is normal tables and chairs and a few pew seats, this area is carpeted, the ceiling is beamed.
There was a TV on showing the cricket on mute, there was some decent background music playing on my Saturday dinner visit.
The pub is a Green King tied house, there were three real ales on the bar,i had a drink of GK IPA which was a decent enough drink and very cheap at £2.20 a pint, the other beers were GK Abbot and Old Speckled Hen.
