Visited 8th June 2024. Only recently re-opened. No casks but two hand pulls remain and lady behind the bar said they may introduce cask again when they get everything sorted out. Had Inch's cider which was decent. Mate had Guiness which he said was above average.

This place looks very dilapidated and closed, although local opinion is split on wither it opens on Fridays or Saturday nights. The upper rooms appear to have furniture piled up against the walls and the lower windows curtains are drawn. There’s no social media since January 2023 so it’s hard to be sure.

The Great Northern Hotel is situated close to the train bridge in the middle of Stanningley.
Once inside there is an oblong shaped room which runs the width of the pub,the room is carpeted and has comfy bench seating and chairs, there is a small raised area to the front right which has leather bench seating and small stools.
There are TVs at each end of the room showing sky sports, there is a separate pool room to the rear right.
There were two real ales on the bar i had a drink of Leeds Best which was a decent drink, the other beer was Taylor Landlord.
I was happy enough having a drink in this pub.
